It has been a while!
I was busy during the Spring and Summer of 2025. Traveling, visiting family and friends. Making new memories. Let my blogging slip through the cracks the last little while.
Photography is changing at an unbelievable pace. It is hard to keep up with the new digital equipment, AI, and the rebirth of film photography.
The Kodak Charmera launched on September 9, 2025:
This little retro camera is already sold out. The Charmera is a tiny keychain camera – that still takes photos and videos – inspired by Kodak’s 1987 camera dubbed the Kodak Fling. The retro exterior of the camera mixes with the low-tech sensor reminiscent of early digital cameras.

Panasonic launches a new white Lumix compact camera in Europe:
Compact cameras are trending right now, and Panasonic has just given us another reason to pay attention. Panasonic has introduced a fresh white camera for its popular Lumix TZ99 (known as the Lumix ZS99 in the US), a compact superzoom camera.

DSLR Camera's are not dead:
Mirrorless Cameras are mainstream and are booming in the photography industry. Yet DSLR Cameras are still popular niche camera. For the optical clarity, battery life, durability, and overall shooting experience that only (!) DSLRs can deliver. DSLR's are now becoming nostalgic much like how film retro cameras.
Cannon is leading the DSLR rebirth with their entry level cameras followed by Panasonic, while Nikon is all in with the digital explosion in photography.
